What if I receive the person I am to marry in my second year in school?
Firstly and principally, you need to submit to your Pastors’ counsels.
Biblically, they are the ones that have rule over you.
Moreover, from experience they would understand that as a 200 level student, what you need essentially is a stronger walk with God, and not courtship.
Truth be told, venturing into relationship at this stage would constitute distractions to you.
Isaiah 28:16 says, Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation, HE THAT BELIEVETH SHALL NOT MAKE HASTE.
Dear friend you need not be hasty because there would still be time for you to start your courtship, when you are more matured.
If you are truly in faith (believing God), you will be at rest. You will keep waiting upon the Lord.
At such an age and stage one can come under peer pressure that would make you feel you should get involved in a relationship.
But, bear in mind that in even in the next 5 to 6 years, you are not likely to be married yet to that person.
You would still be a fresh graduate and most likely not fully prepared to bear the responsibilities of marriage. Therefore, starting courtship now can result in regrets. It can bring about sexual sin. And this can ruin your future.
If you have faith in God you can be sure that he will bring you a man when you get to the stage you need one.
The stage you are in now is a great time to fall in love with the Lord your God, and face your studies. It’s not a time to be scared that you’ll miss your life partner.
Please carry the Pure Fire because at this point a relationship would be a major distraction for you. Eccl. 12:1 says “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;”
It will really be of help if you can prayerfully read and digest Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin’s books, Following God’s Plan for Your Life and Plans, Purposes and Pursuits very urgently.
God bless you!
