Demonstrating The Life of Christ Through Our Conversation (Singlz’ Summit 2025, Day 3)
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
God will pour His spirit of boldness upon the youth, so that they will declare the gospel. Spirit will not rest unless we submit under authority to learn what it takes to carry it. Spirit will not rest on us when we do not love the Lord with all our minds and hearts or when we are compromising or not showing traits of children of God.
It is not ordinary that we are all present at Singlz Summit this year. The Lord has destined us to carry fire. God’s words are spirit and life (John 6:63). A lot of christians do not have the savour of the spirit and it makes it difficult to tell if they are believers or not.
Spirits cannot rest on such believers. God is seeking for youths, men and women that He wants to pour out His spirit upon. Hence, He is calling us to come and learn of Him. We cannot impact our world if we are not grounded. Christianity is not a religion but a life and God wants to see us live this life (2 Corinthians 5:17). What makes a man new is that he is receiving the substances of what make him new (Hebrews 11:1).
In this meeting, new things and thoughts are being communicated to us, so that our minds will be full of God’s thoughts and so that we can live out the life that is in God. God is here to fill us with His substances, so that we can be identified as Christians by our conversations, including our dressing. We can not impact the world if we are not grown or rich on the inside; with the virtues of Christ and with substances of patience, meekness, long-suffering. These substances are things we should inherit. in order to walk the life of God and affect our nation. As new creatures, we should let our light shine and we should proclaim Christ.
The devil deceives us that Christianity is of the heart and we need not show it. However, although Christianity is of the heart, we need to proclaim Christ that we know. Some of us are so ashamed of being identified as Christians because we do not want to lose that sense of belonging among men. Some of us are scared of losing that sense of belonging or being recognised as sociable, when we are identified as Christians. There is no higher life beyond Christ. God wants us to be bold and declare who we are in Christ.
After we have danced to the lyrics of our Singlz Summit songs, we need to go out there and demonstrate those lyrics by living. God is depending on us and we need to love the Lord with all our hearts. We should show Christ and be proud of whom we have believed. We should be bold because scripture says we are the salt and light of the world (Matthew 5:13-14). We should not let the world bring us down.
“But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.” (1 Corinthians 5:11). As believers, we should not be comfortable companying with unbelievers without affecting their lives. We should not speak like the world nor seek to copy them (1 Corinthians 15:33). We should be different and let Christ be seen in us.
Our thoughts create our atmosphere (Philippians 4:8). Social media has taken over our thoughts such that we know all trends. If we can expend the energy spent on social media on scriptures instead, our profiting would appear (1 Timothy 4:15). We should fill our being with life because we cannot minister to anyone when we are fellowshiping with unclean thoughts, rather, such fellowship will attract wrong spirits. However, when we carry the substances and presence of God, we attract people to ourselves who will want to be like us and seek help from us. We should not seek to be like unbelievers. We should identify ourselves with holiness by living and not by merely saying it. God is waiting on us even for our nation, Nigeria. We should therefore ask God to wake us up in prayers, to make our feeble knees strong, and to pray for the nation. We should not trade our youthful energy for vanity.
“Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.” (Psalm 62:9). “Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity…” (Ecclesiastes 11:10). We have strength now (as your people) and we should give God our strength. We should invest in ourselves and learn God. We should not allow evil communication come out of our mouths (Ephesians 4:29).
We culture our atmosphere with our words. Therefore, words are very powerful and should not be used for jesting. God is interested in us as youths and we must invest our time in reading the scriptures. The devil may lie to us that it is not all about reading but the word of God is all that matters (Colossians 3:16).
If we can discipline ourselves when it comes to passing our courses in school, we should be able to do likewise for that which has an heavenly return. We should not seek vain glory that ends here, rather, we should trade our vanity for reality. We should not leave the earth ordinary like a mere man. There is something beautiful in Christ and God and we must press for that which is in God. Laziness can rob us of destiny, therefore, we should sit up.
Studying your bible should not be a Sunday activity. We should read and meditate on scriptures as this is what will make us different from the world.
