Becoming New by Putting Off The Old Man (Singlz’ Summit 2025, Day 2, Morning Session)

The devil fights the Church because it is the place of manifestation and showing forth of God’s life.

All over the world, the devil is fighting the Church and smearing it with a cloak that gives people a negative mindset about it. Satan does not want believers to see themselves as answers to the decadence of God’s word.

“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18).

The Church the Lord wants to build is one that would stand as an opposition to Satan. The Church is not meant to comform to the world’s standard but is to oppose it. The enemy has told many lies about the Church and thereby, given a wrong mindset about it.

Jesus died for all men and can only reach all men by bringing them to church. The body of Christ (the Church) belongs to Jesus. The Church has previously been given wrong definitions but the Church should be defined by its Owner.

Every believer must get ready for warfare. The Church is a place of purging, and not a place to feel good. We must not be afraid to be identified with the Church.

Fear is an enemy that comes in different ways but God put this meeting together to show us that a people must be gathered to take over the systems of the world. Thus, we should express a different lifestyle in our marriages, businesses, and in everything we do. We must be threats to the enemy. The kind of life God wants for us is one that is a threat to the gates of hell.

The theme of this year’s meeting is “Newness”. God has ordained this newness in the Church, but we need to become it. The Church is a place where there is no day or night; it is the expression of the Godhead. The Church is different from every other thing on earth. The new man is a new creature that has never existed before.

The new life in Christ is one that has only existed in our Lord Jesus Christ. The strength of this new life is that it can change its immediate environment. When we become born again, we become a new species of persons that have never existed before. A lot of people do not know the Church but they know the arrangement of the Church. It is such things that have given the Church a wrong definition.

Satan goes after Christians because they are a threat to him as a result of the life of Christ that they have received. We are carriers of the life of God. Our natural indices or challenges do not affect the life of God that we carry, rather, they reinforce it. Our government is the way it is because God has not raised men that will occupy those places. As such, if we do not grow up spiritually, the Lord cannot put us in places of influence.

God is not doing anything new because everything has been finished in Christ. God wants what has been finished to be our lifestyle. God wants us to live in the realm that He created. This world has been finished and concluded. Everything has been finished in the world to come, but we are just acting out a script. We must not be casual christians, rather, we must do what has been written of us.

A lot of people’s lives are hanging on our decisions. It is not enough to stay in church because God tied other men’s lives to us; we are supposed to become channels for others to reach God. We would keep pushing and not fall backwards.

“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: [6] For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: [7] In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. [8] But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. (Colossians 3:5-8). The new spirit within us is Christ’s image and it is bigger than anything in this world. Jesus has put a new spirit within us. This new spirit is the ideal man, but there are still old natures, cultures, traditions within us because of the soul. The new man still has old definitions and expressions until he knows how to put them off.

“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him…” (Colossians 3:10). We do not know that the new man is renewed in knowledge. A new life would come upon us today. We are new creations and no other spirit should be able to trace us.
